UK-trained Osteopath, New Zealand trained pilates rehab instructor & internationally recognised anatomy teacher Rachel Ellery, specializes in sharing her knowledge of human anatomy and movement principles to yoga students, yoga teachers, bodyworkers from around the world.
Rachel is an Osteopath and bodyworker with 24 years of experience. Since qualifying as an Osteopath at the British School of Osteopathy in 2000, Rachel has continued with further studies to advanced her knowledge in a variety of eastern and western treatment methods. Rachel draws on all this experience to focus on how the structure and alignment of the body affects the way it functions. She believes in a holistic approach to diagnosing and treating her clients. Rachel enjoys treating a diverse range of people from babies, children, expectant mothers to the elderly.With her wealth of knowledge and wisdom she will create a unique and personal healing treatment experience, releasing physical restrictions in the body, shifting stagnant energy and emotional blocks.
The treatment may include a variety of techniques from traditional osteopathic, soft tissue massage, skin rolling, trigger points, dry needling, cupping, spinal manipulation, joint mobilisation, Thai massage techniques, abdominal massage, cranio-sacral treatment with visual guidance. Rachel may also use sage, tuning forks and small Tibetan tingsha cymbals for purification and cleansing of energies.
Rachel also has a passion for educating and empowering patients about their posture, offering postural awareness advise, personal neuromuscular rehabilitation exercises and stretching.
Throughout Rachels career she has also taught osteopathic students at UniTech in New Zealand, and more recently teaching anatomy to international students in yoga teacher trainings in Bali, Australia and Thailand.
